（ＣＮＮ） 米地質調査所（ＵＳＧＳ）によると、フィリピン南東部沖でマグニチュード（Ｍ）７．４の地震が発生した。地面が揺れる中、パニックになった住民たちは通りに逃げ出した。
ＵＳＧＳによると、地震は現地時間午前９時４５分ごろ、ミンダナオ島東部の沖合、島の最大都市ダバオから１２３キロの場所で発生。震源の深さは５８．１キロだった。現時点で被害の報告は入っていない。
米国の津波警報システムは当初、フィリピンとインドネシア、島国パラオで津波の可能性があると警告したが、津波の脅威は正午までに過ぎ去った。
