【北京共同】中国新疆ウイグル自治区アクス地区ウシュトゥルファン県で２３日午前２時９分（日本時間同３時９分）ごろ、マグニチュード（Ｍ）７・１の地震が起きた。震源の深さは２２キロ。中国地震局が発表した。国営通信新華社は同県で住宅が倒壊し、住民らが避難したと報じた。
ウシュトゥルファン県はキルギスとの国境付近に位置する。海抜３千メートルの高地にあり、気温は氷点下１０度前後の厳しい冷え込みという。国営中央テレビは、区都ウルムチからアクス地区に救援隊が急行する映像を伝えた。
