（ＣＮＮ） 南極にある英研究基地の近くで、米ニューヨーク市を超える面積の氷山が棚氷から分離した。
英南極調査所（ＢＡＳ）の発表によると、ハリー研究基地のあるブラント棚氷から、面積１２７０平方キロの氷山が分離した。同基地は南極の冬入りにともなって閉鎖され、１２人のスタッフも今月初めに退去していた。
